Nourishment

a food library tuned to
one taste and one body

Everyone is told what to eat by people who have never met them. Meanwhile the actual daily question — what do I make tonight, with what is here, that I will enjoy and that will suit me — goes undesigned.

What we are studying

The gap between nutrition advice in general and the particular body in front of us. Two people can follow identical guidance and be nourished and depleted by it respectively.

How taste is formed, and how it can be widened without being overridden. Food a person does not enjoy is not nourishment; it is compliance, and it does not last.

The real labour of feeding yourself well — the deciding, the shopping, the prep, the cleaning — and where in that chain good intentions actually break.

What we are making

A personal food library: a set of dishes chosen for one person's taste and one person's body, written plainly enough to cook without thinking, on the evenings when thinking is not available.

The shopping list, the standing order and the prep designed alongside the recipes rather than after them, so the whole chain holds.

A kitchen arranged so that the nourishing option is also the easy one — because on a hard day, easy is the only thing that wins.

Where it is going

The library format itself, tested with real households across a full year of seasons.
